Scottie Dogs

Last week I went to an elderly couple's home, the latest of my  jobs as a traveling hair stylist. And as I walked in the door, there I see a Scottie Dog. A really fat, black Scottie Dog!

So Keith loves these black licorice Scottie Dogs and me and Alec always teased him and said they were so gross and smelled so gross.(Cassidy likes them).
Then of course we made up a song for them that Alec loved to sing to Keith,
"Scottie Dogs, Scottie Dogs, Yuck Yuck  Yuck and when you eat em you get Sick, Sick, Sick, Sick Sick!"
Alec loved to tease Keith about his Scottie Dogs and how gross they were, he would always say, "Dad can I have a Scottie Dog?" and Keith would say, "Alec you don't like Scottie Dogs". Then Alec would say, "Ya I do", and Keith would give him one  and Alec would smile so big and so mischeviously and yell "Watch" to all of us and he would go over to the trash barrel and spit all over the Scottie Dog, while laughing hysterically and then throw it away.
It was funny everytime!

So when I walked in this house with this Scottie Dog it made me smile and his name was....."Scottie !"   And their house was filled with tons of Scottie dog figurines..tons!
Once again I knew Alec led me to these sweet people with his Scottie Dog sign.
I brought Cassidy with me the next time I went, and after we left, she couldn't stop laughing about how big and fat their Scottie Dog was!

Last night I decided to check on the boy Tommy who was at the Jimmy Fund for treatment the day donations were brought in, Alec's Birthday. He was one of the kids that Cassidy, Lydia and Scott got to meet and give gifts to him and his sister. His Mom left us a beautiful message on the blog with a link to their facebook page. He has a rough road but seems to be doing ok he just celebrated his 8th Birthday. As I was reading up on him, I was so heart broken and shocked to read that Hailey, Alec's sweet friend from the clinic had been in ICU , back in November (I think), she had collapsed at clinic and it was a very scary situation( her breathing has been labored for a long time now).  I believe from what I read that she has a Trach now and is home.  This news is just heart wrenching, please pray for her and Tommy and all these beautiful children so their families won't feel the heartache we feel everyday.
We love you Hailey

So it's been awhile since I've written on here, sometimes I just have no words.
But Alec never ceasing in giving us signs of his love for us and his loved ones.
Everyday and several times throughout the day, he surprises us with a sign to let us know he is with us.
Awhile back I went on my first interview for a job as a hairstylist at a nursing home, It was in May of 2012, it was so hard to be there but I braved up and felt I should try to do something and  contribute to our finances.  I was hired as a back up stylist and sat in on a meeting with a group of other stylists and the bosses, they went around the table asking everyone about themselves. It was awful, I hoped she'd skip me and I think I was just so vague in my answer so as not to lose it. Anyway, they only called on me once and I couldn't work that time and did not call again,( I figured it was because I just sat there and didn't talk much at the meeting), then I received a letter a few months ago saying I would be terminated if I didn't contact them, so I did and they had me go in and show me the ropes one day. Then I was asked to work. Now I officially have 7 odd jobs now, I know that I didn't get called for any of the jobs I applied for because there was no way I could've kept it together to be at a job, but now it helps me to stay busy working. I still have no desire to do things, but working is different, work I can do...usually.  So on the day I went to the nursing home, I was nervous sitting in my car waiting to go in and the song "Firework" by Katy Perry came on which as many do reminds me of Alec and I look up and see a sign that says 10-23, it was a condo unit and had a sign pointing to the unit #'s which were 10 thru 23. I drove over to it got out and took a picture for me and to show Keith and Cass and when I got back in my car it was 8:23.  My Bubbies always give me extra love when I need it most, I had to gather myself after that to go in and it was really nice to care for the elderly doing their hair, they were so sweet to me.
