I just put it out there knowing it is something that we loved, as we were taken care of this way by loved ones; My Mom let us use her time share and Terri let us use her vacation home and Nicole's parents always welcomed us to their other home in Maine. We so needed it and so much appreciated it and cherished our time together as a family.
Almost as soon as I posted it, I was so touched to see that Nicole forwarded it to her friends and family asking others to consider this and to spread the word.
Then her cousin Cindi and her clients Linda and Frank reached out to possibly offer their vacation homes.
I was overwhelmed with the love and kindness others feel for families they do not know. And I realized that others want to help, but don't always know how.
I often beat myself up because I want to help so many people and from experience, I know ways that I can help. But I am not ready to be out in the world fundraising and or putting myself out there.
But this made me realize that everyone wants to do something, every one has something to give and it will be something different for everyone. Some may have a home to share, some may be able to make blankets to donate, some are good at fundraising, etc. etc...
I had the feeling that I don't need to do big things, Alec was all about the little things, for him it was the little things filled with Great Love that brought him joy and happiness.
I know for Alec, others want to share Love and Kindness.
