Our  "23"  signs

Alec's Birthday is October 23 , and we see the number 23  all the time, it's one of the many Alec's sign to us.
Yesterday we took Cassidy to Walden Pond.  We were sitting on a low wall on the beach that was full of  people. I looked over and saw a Park Ranger, she stood out in her Ranger gear looking kinda goofy, because everyone was in bathing suits. I said look at the Ranger so we were all watching her, it looked like she was taking pictures. Then she looked over at us and then came over, ( I thought oh crap, please don't ask to take our picture)--she didn't.
She just started explaining how she was taking pictures to prove that there were alot of people swimming and they don't have a lifeguard yet--she felt they should have one for safety.I don't know why I asked because I didn't really care, but  I asked her when the lifeguard starts, and she said memorial weekend and then she said "on June 23 rd they start during the week.  We all just looked at each other and smiled, it now made sense why this Ranger chose us to talk to (to give us Alec's message of love). The 23 rd.
when we left there, I saw a big rock with the #23 painted on it .Then when we picked up supper, our total was $23 dollars.  And we saw two license plates with the #23 on them.
Alec knows we need these signs to know he is with us and loves us. And we also know he gives signs to so many others that he loves.

Cassidy has added new pictures and stories to her page.

Laura, Keith & Cassidy: I just want to thank all of you so much for sharing your love, stories, and photos of Alec! I can't believe how thrilled I was just to see Ketih's name in my new email and that excitement only grew ten-fold once I connected to AMAZINGALEC.COM - a site that is now a part of my daily computer habit and I didn't even have a daily habit before now. The memories and photos are a wonderful way to connect with all of us who have missed you all so much! The minute I logged off from my first visit to the site I was rummaging through bags of photos trying to find memories of our few visits playing with Alec and Cassidy while Laura did either Corrie's or Mackenzie's hair and as she may remember...that often took quite a while. (I've come up with a few photos and will send them along.) During those visits, it was amazing to me how easily Alec took to us even though we didn't see him often and after reading your stories and learning so much more about him it's clear that that was just Alec's way. I remember playing with him out on the front lawn and even getting the opportunity to be a part of a learning/playing session with one of his therapists -- it was clear from a very young age that Alex was quite a smarty pants! There was another visit that I remember when we played for hours out on the back porch and must have had fun with every single toy out there -- especially Pretty Pretty Princess and we have the photos to show just how "pretty" we were by the time the game ended. Another time we spent the entire visit watching and laughing as Alec simply got on and off the couch all day long - he apparently had just mastered that feat, but was more than likely enjoying the fact that we were all so easily entertained or perhaps testing us to see just how long he could keep us hanging on his every move. While these memories pale in comparison to what you each have shared, and I hope will continue to share, they are cherished ones for us. We think about each of you often, miss you all tons, and hope to be able to see you soon! Love and kisses, AA

Papa wanted to share some stories, too:

Al would call their house, Papa would answer & say "Hi Bud." He would say, "I have to talk to Nan.... her son is being annoying!" Sometimes he'd call and say, "I have to talk to Nan... Cassidy is not cooperating!"

One time, Alec called and Papa said, "Don't you want to talk to Papa?" He said, 'I will talk to you later."

One day, Alec was whining because he was upset about something, Papa told him, "there's no whining in Billerica." Al asked, "Could we go to Burlington?"

Papa would tend to visit Keith, Laura, Cassidy & Alec on Sunday mornings, but went on a Saturday one weekend. When Papa went in the house, Alec wanted to know why he was there cause "it's not Sunday."

If Nana & Papa were visiting in the evening and Alec got tired, he'd turn to them and ask when they were leaving.

Papa called Al "Bugsy Boy." ♥

Hi Guys,

I would like to share a sign I recieved today from Al. I was at a parking garage today and was talking to Al and aked him to give me a sign that he was with me. I was waiting for the elevator and looked over and there was a picture of a giraffe on the wall. I was so happy to see this.

Love Cara xoxoxo

Scott and I were watching TV last night when they flashed over to a digital calendar and sure enough it said 10-23. Al really is around us all and is still teaching us how to just stop and enjoy every moment. This website has become my daily smile! thank you Laura, Kieth, and Cassidy for sharing all of your greatest memories.
