From this first visit and for the many many more, the cost for Alec's visits to Cleveland was provided by family, friends, aquaintances and many more beautiful, loving generous people. It was an amazing blessing.
This type of healing was something that we had no idea about and probably would never had believed in before, but we had to try. On the day we went, I asked God for a sign if we weren't suppose to go. We drove there following our directions and when we got to 90 Main st., it was a run down 2 family house, Keith ran in, this couldn't be right. So we called the number and we were in the wrong town, we had to drive a few more miles ahead. I thought, is this a sign that we are not suppose to go ( but I said if we make it on time then it's ok--and we did). It was a small mystical store, we walked in and waited. Cleveland came out to get us, he was nothing like we pictured, he was a regular guy. We told him right away that Alec will not let you sit when you hold him and he will not let you touch his head. Cleveland held Alec and then sat down in this big chair and laid his hand on Alec's head. Alec let him do the two things that even we could not do. He stayed in his arms for an hour ,content as could be. This is how we knew this was right--we knew he must be making Alec feel better. I felt a presence touch my hands, I thought it was my Dad- (as if to say it's going to be o.k). Cleveland said to us right away that what he does is a gift from God, this was the reassurance I needed. I knew Cleveland worked 2 days a week and begged him to see Alec twice a week, he said no at first, because he said he would not see a person more than once a week, it was not necessary. He had never allowed it before, but I finally got him to say yes and we took Alec to see him twice a week. When we were leaving he said to us that he really felt that he was suppose to do this, we agreed. For the rest of the day Alec had a large red mark across his head where Cleveland had held his hand. When we told Cleveland this, he just smiled and said that is so good, as if to say he is being healed.
It was months later, when Cleveland would finally tell us that he was very scared to even have Alec come to him, he knew what the Doctor's and nurse's had told us and was afraid something might happen while he was with him. He said he had prayed about it alot before he decided to take the chance. He told us it was an extremely difficult decision to make. He also never said I will make Alec better, but he did offer some encouraging stories, as well as a few not so encouraging ones. He always said I won't tell you that I am the great and powerful Oz. But to us he was.
The picture above was taken on this day and if you can tell, Alec has a grin on his face, a peaceful, content, I am so loved grin. ---An I am getting better grin.
